Senior Movement Engagement Associate, Worker Justice and Gender Justice (NCRP) Posted on November 12, 2019 About the Position Are you looking to leverage your skills in stakeholder engagement and project management to create a more equitable and impactful philanthropic sector? The National Committee for Responsive Philanthropy (NCRP) in Washington, D.C. is looking for a senior movement engagement associate who can help the organization’s small but high-performing team promote philanthropy that is accountable, effective and responsive to the needs of marginalized communities. The senior associate will play a crucial role in expanding a core area of work for NCRP, the Movement Investment Project, to strengthen resources for the Worker Justice and Gender Justice movements. This is a wonderful opportunity to leverage existing relationships with Worker Justice and Gender Justice movement groups with a national nonprofit. You’ll build relationships with leading movement groups and funders who care about these movements. You’ll lead campaigns to shift the behavior of funders and other target organizations. You’ll gain experience in advancing learning and evaluation activities for projects and fundraising skills. You’ll develop your supervision skills by co-supervising an intern. You’ll get a chance to lead presentations and workshops with national audiences. The senior associate will be supervised by the field director. Major Responsibilities Recommend and implement engagement tactics to the field director and communications team based on the needs and opportunities of Worker Justice and Gender Justice (reproductive rights and freedom from gender-based violence) movements Engage funder targets in taking action on NCRP content and programming. Hold funders in assigned movements areas accountable for commitments they make across NCRP’s programming (e.g. Power Moves) Assist in fundraising, in developing project budgets and in monitoring spending of approved budgets. Attend conferences and lead presentations about the Movement Investment Project Recruit nonprofit groups that are essential to the movements as members Share resources with movement organizations about philanthropy and how to navigate the sector to help advance their goals. Other duties as assigned. Estimated travel is 25%. Core Competencies Experience with Worker Justice and/or Gender Justice movement groups (e.g. domestic worker or farmworker organizing; paid sick leave; LGBTQ employment discrimination; Black and immigrant worker centers, etc.) Experience conducting outreach to organizations and/or campaign work A strong commitment to equity and social justice Excellent written and verbal communication skills Microsoft Office proficient, especially Word, Excel and PowerPoint Working knowledge of Salesforce or similar CRM databases Working knowledge of Zoom or similar webinar platforms Benefits This is an exempt, salaried position. The salary range for this position is $55,000 to $60,000 per year, with employer-paid or employer-supplemented medical, dental, vision, disability and retirement benefits for you and your dependents.
