Welder Position at Kurt J. Lesker CompanyKurt J. Lesker Company (KJLC) is seeking a Welder for performing high-quality Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) on box and cylindrical chambers used in precision manufacturing environments. This role requires the ability to independently interpret engineering drawings, perform accurate fit-up, and weld in multiple positions while meeting strict quality, safety, and dimensional tolerance requirements. The Welder works closely with engineering and production supervision, identifies drawing discrepancies, and completes required quality and production documentation with minimal oversight.Job Details:Type of Employment: Full-timeLocation: Jefferson Hills, PADivision/Department: Manufacturing/Machine ShopReports to: Assistant Manufacturing ManagerShifts: 1st, 2nd & 3rd Shift (Mon-Friday) availableResponsibilities:Perform high-quality TIG (GTAW) welding on box and cylindrical chambersIndependently set up welding parameters, including tungsten selection, shielding gas, flow rates, and amperageWeld in flat, vertical, and overhead positions with consistent qualityRead and interpret moderately complex blueprints and weld symbolsIdentify drawing discrepancies and communicate feedback to engineering and supervisionLayout, fit, tack, and weld components to drawing and specification requirementsSafely operate welding support equipment, including floor-mounted rotary positionersUse precision measuring tools (calipers, rulers, feeler gauges, pi tapes) to verify decimal tolerancesUtilize plasma cutting equipment to achieve proper fit-upComplete moderately complex production and quality documentation with minimal assistanceComply with all company safety, quality, and HR policiesPerform other duties as assignedQualifications:Required:High School Diploma or GED4–7 years of TIG (GTAW) welding experience in a manufacturing environmentStrong understanding of mathematics, mechanical drawings, and weld symbolsAbility to bend, stoop, squat, twist, and lift up to 60 lbs unassistedQualified to operate a 5-Ton CranePreferred:Vocational, trade school, or community college certificate in weldingCompletion of an accredited welding apprenticeship programWhy Kurt J.
