Tax Accounting Intern

Internship Overview The Accounting/Tax Intern will support the finance team with a primary focus on Form 5500 tax reporting and compliance activities. This internship provides hands-on experience working with clients, conducting research, preparing documentation, and assisting in the execution of the 5500-filing process Internship Details Location - On-Site, Sioux Falls, SD (no hybrid or remote option) Monday-Friday, no nights or weekends Non-Exempt/Hourly - Full Time Fall/Winter - September 2026 through December 2026 Winter/Spring - January 2027 through May 2027 Responsibilities & Duties Assist with the preparation and execution of Form 5500 filings and related compliance tasks. Work directly with clients to gather required information and supporting documentation. Research Form 5500 requirements, deadlines, and filing considerations as needed. Organize, review, and verify data for accuracy and completeness before submission. Support the team in tracking filing progress and maintaining compliance records. Assist with data entry, document management, and administrative support related to tax and accounting functions. Collaborate with other departments to gather financial data and assist with internal audits. Other tasks as assigned by management. Qualifications & Requirements Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Basic understanding of accounting principles and financial practices. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other office software Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
