Day Habilitation Specialist (Full-time or Part-time)

Join ChildServe as a Day Habilitation SpecialistM-F, daytime hours, paying $18/hr! The Day Habilitation Specialist supports the skill development for young adults. This team member will provide or assist with care needs and supervision in a group setting. Full-time would be 5 days a week, Part-time would have the option of 2-3 days a week. Hours would be 8:30am-3:30pm

Schedule/Where You’ll Be

• Up to $18/hour 
• Monday - Friday, 8:30am - 3:30pm 
• Full-time position would be benefits eligible 
• Ames, IA

How You’ll Make an Impact

• Provide direct care and assist assigned individuals with accessing the community and increasing independence with communication, socialization and daily living skills
• Implement individual’s care plans and provide ongoing feedback regarding additional or changing care plan needs to child’s supervisor or Day Hab Supervisor
• Required to become certified for medication administration, seizures, and g-tube feedings as well as other specialized trainings as identified
• Assure timely and accurate documentation

What You’ll Need:

• Basic Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, pass criminal and child abuse background checks, and have a high school diploma preferred.
• Driving & Transportation: Must qualify as a ChildServe authorized driver, including passing motor vehicle and car safety checks, providing valid license and insurance, and obtaining a chauffeur’s license if required.
• Skills & Experience: Strong oral and written communication skills for accurate documentation; experience with or knowledge of children with special health care needs preferred.
• Language & Professionalism: Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively for clear communication and documentation.
