Machinist

Our client, manufacturing industry is seeking a Machinist to join their team. As a Machinist, you will be part of the production department supporting pump repair operations. The ideal candidate will have strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Machinist

Location: Norfolk, VA

Pay Range: $19/hr

Shift: Monday-Friday, 6AM-2:30PM

What's the Job?

• Manufacture and repair pump components according to instructions and drawings

• Operate all machine shop equipment including VTLs, Horizontal Boring Machines, and Lathes

• Perform incoming and outgoing inspections, ensuring quality standards are met

• Set up and maintain machines for pump fabrication, ensuring smooth operation

• Analyze design drawings and work orders to ensure precision and accuracy

What's Needed?

• Minimum of 5+ years of manual machining experience

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings

• Proficiency in operating manual machine tools such as lathes and milling machines

• Knowledge of precision measuring instruments like Vernier Calipers and Micrometers

• Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and problem-solving skills
