Technical Director - AV / Conferencing Solutions

Overview Crestron is seeking a dynamic Technical Director in our New York City metro/New Jersey sales territory. This pivotal role combines technical expertise with customer-facing skills to drive the adoption and success of Crestron's cutting-edge AV products and technologies. As an individual contributor reporting to the Director of Technical Sales, you'll spearhead our technical field engagement strategy. Your comprehensive knowledge of Crestron's offerings will position you as a trusted advisor, guiding customers through the entire technology lifecycle- from initial purchasing decisions to final implementation. In this role, you'll collaborate closely with Regional Sales and Account Managers, providing crucial technical sales support to influence sales, streamline deployments, and boost technology adoption. Your ability to design, implement, measure, and manage complex AV & UC solutions will be key to our success. The territory includes the following states: NEW YORK, NEW JERSEY, and EASTERN PENNSYLVANIA. Preferred candidate location: New York City or New Jersey.Most importantly, you'll serve as the voice of the customer within Crestron. Position Overview: Individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Technical Sales Remote work arrangement (must live in Sales territory)60% travel required - heavily concentrated on New York City Key Responsibilities: Serve as the dedicated technical resource for Crestron products and technologies Provide technical guidance during the sales process to internal and external stakeholders Uncover business development opportunities through client, partner, and dealer interactions Represent Crestron at major trade shows and events Qualifications 4+ years of experience in technical pre-sales or consulting roles Exceptional communication and presentation skills Strong Knowledge of Commercial AV, networking principles and Unified Communications technologiesStrong technical solution selling experience Proven track record of exceeding goals and expectations Ability to engage effectively with senior executives In-depth knowledge of meetings and collaboration technologies Experience with business analytics and data modeling Proficiency in large-scale networking Excellent project management and organizational skills Able to travel 60% to dealer, client, Crestron, tradeshow and training events. Education and Certifications Bachelor's degree (preferred) AvixaCTS, CTS-D, and/or CTS-I (preferred) Relevant UC technology certifications (e.g., Cisco, Microsoft, Zoom) a plus Crestron and other industry certifications a plus Valid U.S. Driver's LicenseCompensationPer applicable state requirements, the annual pay range for this position ($130,000 - $180,000) which consists of base salary and sales incentive (subject to performance), reflects the hiring range for candidates.
