Come join our family!SummaryThis position performs a variety of semi-skilled tasks in Parks & Grounds maintenance. Position also operates a variety of equipment. ***This position may include nights and weekends, shifts and schedules will vary. Hours will not exceed 28 per week.***Essential Function Duties and ResponsibilitiesPerforms skilled maintenance on city grounds, athletic fields, medians, and rights-of-way related to pruning, relocation and removal of treesPerforms general maintenance on department equipment, such as lawn and power equipment, located throughout the City's parks, grounds and athletic fieldsOperates tractors, mowers, jack hammers, welders, trucks, steam cleaners, buffers, washers, and other equipment, as neededAssists with the preparation of facilities for all related recreation activities, special events, and tournamentsMaintains detailed records and reports regarding the status of a variety of parks related systems, repairs made and related expensesParticipates in the maintenance of athletic fields, landscape areas, playgrounds, and irrigation systemsMaintains and adjusts specialized Parks equipment and tools, including chain saws, pole saws, tractors, mowers, carts, sprayers, chippers and stump grindersAssists with the operation lighting systems on designated athletic fields, basketball, and tennis courts lighting systemsOperates a variety of hand, electric and air driven toolsAssists in the training of part-time employees or community service workersDocument work in approved work order software; log hours in daily work orders and special projectsPerforms duties as assigned during emergency response conditionsPerforms any other related duties as required or assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh School diploma or equivalent, andExperience in parks & grounds maintenance workExperience in a variety of trade and maintenance workAny related combination of education, training, and experienceSpecial Qualifications/PreferencesValid Florida State driver's license
