PRN Infusion / Vascular Access Registered Nurse

Operating out of our specialized Day Surgery and dedicated Chemotherapy and Infusion Center, our specialized team delivers highly precise outpatient and inpatient clinical care. Services encompass advanced vascular access management, including PICC line and midline insertions, ultrasound-guided peripheral access, therapeutic phlebotomy, port-a-Cath maintenance, and central line monitoring. In this key PRN role, you will administer highly complex, life-sustaining treatments such as chemotherapy, biotherapy, blood transfusions, and long-term intravenous antibiotics. Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Registered Nurse, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care in line with the requirements of the department and the standards of practice for the relevant state and specialty. Collaborating with medical providers and the care team, you will provide personalized, comprehensive, and compassionate care, following established nursing models such as "Assess, Perform, Teach, and Manage." You will also act as an advocate for patients, families, and caregivers, embodying the organization's vision, mission, and values to ensure an outstanding patient experience and positive clinical outcomes.
What you will do in this role:
- Handles the care, maintenance, and accessing of all peripheral and central lines, including port-a-caths and central venous catheters.
- Demonstrates advanced knowledge in safely delivering a wide variety of therapies, including chemotherapy, monoclonal antibodies, immunoglobulins, and blood products.
- Verifies medical orders, reviews lab results, and maintains direct communication with physicians and pharmacy personnel to manage abnormal values.
- Conducts thorough patient teaching for clinic and home care, monitors patients throughout therapy, and manages medical emergencies.
- Commits to on-call shifts, weekends, and holidays while sharing responsibility for maintaining a safe, clean, and tidy work environment.
What qualifications you will need:
- Graduate of an accredited diploma, associates, or baccalaureate degree registered nursing program.
- Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred.
- Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Texas or Multi-State Compact License (Employees with RN Compact License are required to obtain Texas RN License within 90 days of hire date)
- Current BLS issued from American Heart Association required
- ONS Chemotherapy Certification (Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Provider Card) required.
- 1 year of clinical Infusion/IV Therapy experience as a licensed RN required.
