Senior Accountant

The Senior Accountant is responsible for being lead support to the broader Finance and Accounting team related to internal and external financial reporting, monthly close entries and reconciliations, and other aspects of accounting operations such as daily bank transfers, bi-monthly cutoff processes, and customer reporting needs.The Senior Accountant will have extensive access to the Finance and Accounting team members and the COO/CFO, requiring excellent interpersonal and written communication skills. DELIVER SERVICE Accomplishes Accounting team and corporate mission by completing related results as needed, on a timely and accurate basis Lead preparation and close of internal and external financial statements for the broader organization by gathering and analyzing information from the general ledger system and departments Be a liaison to Client Services and Billing as it relates to customer inquiries and reporting Respond to requests for client-specific reporting and initiating operating transactions in a timely manner Collaborate with other departments on reporting and transactional items on a consistent basis ESPRIT DE CORPS Act as a key leader of the Finance/Accounting team, performing and supporting journal entries and reconciliations for monthly and year-end closes Manage all aspects of the various corporate entities: deposits, withdrawals, transfers, audits, and related reporting Support Accounting Manager on all ad-hoc requests Cross-train junior team members on other Accounting functions to enable delegation of responsibilities on an ongoing basis BRING GUSTO Passion for learning the accounting processes and improving them.Recommend changes where appropriate that betters the team and organization Work closely with General Counsel/Chief Compliance Officer and members of the broader Accounting and Finance team on issues specifically related to accounts CPA certification/designation is highly preferred BE EXPERTS Strive for full competency of NetSuite accounting system, learning how to customize reports and tasks for streamlined efficiency and enhanced reporting Respond to information requests from clients, auditors, internal team members, and governmental authorities related to the health trusts Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations OWN IT Maintain and diligently document both current and new processes, teach others as needed Learn bi-monthly cutoff processes and provide coverage to senior team members as needed Specific Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Highly motivated self-starter with the ability to accomplish and manage multiple priorities independently and simultaneously Ability to work as a team player with a committed, positive approach to working through adversity Substantial organizational, project, and time management skills, with extreme attention to detail Ability to consistently meet deadlines, regardless of the circumstances Exceptional communication skills, both in the verbal and written word, necessary to communicate with employees, managers, and executives Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Products Outlook, Word, and Excel preferred Strong knowledge of GAAP, with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong knowledge of NetSuite is a plus; working knowledge is preferred Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required. 7+ years of accounting experience is preferred. 5+ years of experience leading a team of accounting professionals is preferred.
