About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Senior Specialist, Cyber Information Systems Security Officer / Systems Administrator to support enterprise infrastructure and specialized computing environments within the aerospace and defense industry.

This is a hands-on senior technical role combining enterprise infrastructure administration, cybersecurity, information systems security, and classified systems support. The successful candidate will be responsible for the administration, security, availability, and lifecycle management of servers, virtualization platforms, network infrastructure, cybersecurity systems, and special information systems.

The role is approximately equally divided between enterprise infrastructure operations and Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) responsibilities. You will work with Windows Server, Microsoft Azure Government, GCC High, VMware, Fortinet, Aruba, backup and recovery systems, and cybersecurity compliance frameworks including JSIG, RMF, NIST, and CMMC.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support information systems administration and cybersecurity compliance activities for systems operating under NISP and Special Access Program requirements.
• Build, configure, deploy, harden, patch, troubleshoot, and maintain RMF/JSIG-approved workstations and servers.
• Support RMF and JSIG authorization and maintenance activities, including eMASS updates, POA&M tracking, security artifacts, and authorization documentation.
• Perform continuous monitoring and periodic security reviews, including audit-log reviews, account audits, patch and antivirus verification, vulnerability assessments, and configuration management.
• Support SAP cybersecurity compliance activities in accordance with applicable DoD guidance, customer requirements, and approved procedures.
• Coordinate technical security activities with the ISSM, ISSO, Program Security Officer, and Security Control Assessor.
• Provide technical support during security inspections, government audits, system assessments, and remediation activities.
• Administer Microsoft Azure Government, Microsoft 365 GCC High, and on-premises Windows Server environments.
• Manage Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, file services, authentication services, and related infrastructure.
• Provide operational support for Linux-based systems.
• Deploy, configure, maintain, patch, and troubleshoot physical and virtual servers.
• Lead server lifecycle activities, including upgrades, migrations, technology refreshes, and decommissioning.
• Administer and maintain VMware infrastructure, virtual machines, and associated management platforms.
• Monitor virtualization performance, availability, and capacity and resolve resource and performance issues.
• Support virtualization upgrades, migrations, disaster recovery, and business continuity initiatives.
• Administer Fortinet firewalls, including security policies, rule sets, VPN services, and web-filtering capabilities.
• Manage network segmentation, VLANs, access-control configurations, and enterprise network infrastructure.
• Administer and troubleshoot Aruba switching and wireless infrastructure.
• Monitor network availability and performance and lead root-cause analysis for complex connectivity issues.
• Implement approved network security configurations and infrastructure hardening requirements.
• Administer enterprise backup systems and recovery processes and validate backup completion, retention, and recoverability.
• Support vulnerability management, remediation, operating system patching, cybersecurity audits, and compliance reviews.
• Participate in CMMC and NIST SP 800-171 compliance initiatives.
• Provide Tier 2 and Tier 3 support for complex server, virtualization, network, and security issues.
• Lead or support infrastructure modernization, technology refresh, and cross-functional implementation projects.
• Plan and execute maintenance windows and planned outages in coordination with stakeholders.
• Support infrastructure operations across multiple company locations.
• Provide technical mentorship and guidance to junior IT personnel.
• Provide technical recommendations to IT and security leadership regarding infrastructure risk, performance, and lifecycle priorities.
• Maintain accurate infrastructure documentation, diagrams, standards, procedures, and security records.
• Provide backup support for classified systems administration and ISSO functions as authorized.

Required Qualifications:

• Active U.S. Government Secret Security Clearance required.
• U.S. citizenship required to obtain and maintain the required security clearances.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a top secret security clearance.
• Minimum of 6 years of enterprise infrastructure administration experience.
• Strong experience administering Windows Server environments in enterprise organizations.
• Experience with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, and related identity and network services.
• Experience administering VMware virtualization environments.
• Experience administering Fortinet firewalls or comparable enterprise firewall platforms.
• Experience administering enterprise switching and wireless infrastructure.
• Experience supporting cybersecurity, vulnerability remediation, patching, and infrastructure hardening initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot complex server, network, virtualization, and security issues.
• Experience supporting classified information systems or performing ISSO responsibilities is preferred.
• Experience supporting SAP or other DoD classified environments is preferred.
• Experience with RMF, NIST SP 800-53, eMASS, POA&M management, and continuous monitoring is preferred.
• Experience with NIST SP 800-171 and CMMC compliance initiatives is preferred.
• Experience with Veeam backup and recovery solutions is preferred.
• Experience with Nutanix infrastructure is preferred.
• Experience supporting Microsoft Azure Government or Microsoft 365 GCC High environments is preferred.
• Experience supporting Department of Defense contractors or government programs is preferred.
• Current CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or CISM certification, or the ability to obtain CompTIA Security+ within 90 days of hire.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, exercise sound technical judgment, and manage multiple priorities effectively.
