ICU Neonatal Registered Nurse - Night Shift

Job Description

The competent Nurse, in the same or similar clinical setting, practices independently and demonstrates awareness of all relevant aspects of a situation. This position provides routine and complex care, demonstrating the ability to set long-range goals and plans. The nurse will continue to develop skills to cope with and manage contingencies of clinical nursing while making appropriate assignments and delegating to other care providers as a means to help manage the clinical situation.

Responsibilities

• Provides nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients.
• Addresses increasingly complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families.
• Administers medications and treatments according to appropriate protocols; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medication, and care given.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and resources.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• 1 year of experience in related nursing specialty preferred.
• Current STABLE (Post-resuscitation/Pre-transport Stabilization Care of Sick Infants) certification required.
• Current BLS certification required (AHA only).
• Current NRP certification required.
• RN License in the state of Texas or compact.

Schedule

This is a full-time night shift position, scheduled from 7 PM to 7 AM.
