Nuclear Medicine/PET Technologist

Position Title Medical Diagnostic Technician - Advanced Position Summary The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate MRI, MR/PET, and PET/CT imaging services for the BRIC utilizing technical and administrative expertise. Technical areas of responsibility include ensuring the safety of research subjects during studies and conducting MRI, MR/PET, PET/CT, and CT studies with and without the use of radioactive nuclides. Administrative responsibilities involve proper use of the scheduling system for imaging research services, adherence to safety standards and SOPs, logging accurate machine time usage for billing purposes, and managing relationships with multiple investigators. The work involves caring for research subjects and clinical patients of all ages, including children as young as 2 weeks and spanning adulthood. Applicants should be comfortable working with subjects/patients of all ages and levels of health, from the very healthy to those who are very ill and toward the end of life. Minimum Education and Experience Requirements High school diploma or equivalency and two years of experience in medical diagnostics; or an equivalent combination of training and experience. Some positions may require additional training, certifications, or licenses. Management Preferences Training and/or experience in Positron Emission Tomography (PET) and diagnostic Computed Tomography (CT) is preferred, including knowledge of radiation safety principles and regulatory compliance, and the ability to troubleshoot imaging equipment and adapt protocols as needed. Prior experience with clinical research imaging or academic imaging. Candidates should demonstrate a desire to work within the research environment as well as a clinical environment, both independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow standardized imaging protocols, strong organizational and documentation skills, self‑directed independent work, multitasking ability, and a high level of professionalism. Required Licenses / Certifications Registry by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists with certification in Nuclear Medicine and CT (or equivalent licensure or certification) is required.
