Step into a rewarding contract opportunity working with elementary students in a school-based setting as an Occupational Therapist. This full-time, Monday through Friday role spans 37.5 hours each week, supporting children in 1st through 5th grade. You’ll start as soon as possible and enjoy the consistency of an assignment that extends through June 2027.
Bring your expertise to a collaborative educational environment, helping students achieve greater independence and success in their day-to-day learning and activities. Your work will make a meaningful difference in the lives of young learners while working alongside caring educators and supportive staff.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Current and valid Maine OT license required
- Prior experience working with elementary-age students is highly valued
- Skill in evaluating students’ motor, sensory, social, and self-care needs
- Strong communication abilities to work effectively with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams
- Proficient in designing and implementing individualized treatment plans
- Organizational skills to manage caseload and maintain accurate documentation
Primary Responsibilities:
- Assess and identify students’ needs through formal and informal evaluations
- Develop and deliver customized intervention plans for 1st to 5th graders
- Collaborate closely with teachers to integrate OT strategies into daily classroom routines
- Provide direct therapy services individually or in small groups
- Track student progress and adjust interventions as needed
- Share progress with families and participate in IEP meetings
- Maintain accurate, confidential records in compliance with school policies and state guidelines
