Eaglesun Systems is a Native American-owned technology company based in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We develop and support enterprise software solutions and provide technology services to tribal governments and organizations throughout the United States.

Our products support important government and social services operations, including case management, program administration, reporting, and related business processes.

We are expanding our software engineering capabilities to incorporate artificial intelligence into our existing products and future solutions.

Position Summary

Eaglesun Systems is seeking an experienced Senior AI Software Engineer to lead the technical design, development, and integration of AI capabilities across our enterprise software portfolio.

This is a hands-on engineering position focused on bringing modern AI technologies into established, production software applications.

The successful candidate will work closely with our existing software development team to build intelligent features that improve productivity, automate complex processes, enhance reporting, and simplify how users interact with enterprise systems.

The initial focus will include our Tribal Assistance System (TAS), with opportunities to develop reusable AI services and capabilities across other Eaglesun products.

This is not a research-only position. We are seeking an engineer who can take AI solutions from concept through secure production deployment.

Key Responsibilities

AI Application Development

• Design, develop, and maintain AI-powered features within existing enterprise applications.
• Integrate large language models (LLMs) using platforms such as OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Anthropic, or comparable technologies.
• Develop retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems for secure access to application data and documentation.
• Build intelligent document processing, summarization, and natural-language reporting capabilities.
• Design AI agents that support software testing, administrative workflows, and user productivity.
• Develop reusable AI services, APIs, and integration components.

Enterprise Software Integration

• Collaborate with existing Eaglesun software engineers to integrate AI functionality into established applications.
• Work with relational databases, APIs, authentication systems, and existing business logic.
• Design scalable, maintainable services that integrate with current software architecture.
• Ensure compatibility with existing application security and authorization models.
• Contribute production-quality code, automated tests, and technical documentation.

Security, Privacy, and Reliability

• Design AI solutions appropriate for sensitive government and social services information.
• Implement tenant isolation, role-based access controls, audit logging, and secure data handling.
• Evaluate model outputs for accuracy, reliability, hallucination risks, and inappropriate data exposure.
• Develop human-in-the-loop workflows for consequential decisions.
• Implement monitoring, error handling, cost controls, and performance optimization.
• Support deployment approaches that meet applicable customer agreements and data protection requirements.

Technical Leadership

• Help establish Eaglesun's long-term AI architecture and engineering standards.
• Evaluate emerging AI technologies and recommend practical adoption opportunities.
• Mentor existing developers in AI engineering practices.
• Collaborate with technical leadership to prioritize AI development initiatives.
• Maintain clear documentation and ensure Eaglesun retains technical ownership of developed solutions.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent professional experience.
• Five or more years of professional software engineering experience.
• Demonstrated experience developing and deploying production applications that incorporate large language models.
• Strong programming experience in Python, C#, TypeScript, or comparable enterprise development languages.
• Experience integrating third-party APIs and building backend services.
• Working knowledge of SQL databases, application authentication, and enterprise software architecture.
• Experience with RAG, embeddings, vector search, or similar AI retrieval technologies.
• Familiarity with AI evaluation, testing, observability, and security practices.
• Ability to independently design and implement production-ready solutions.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience developing AI features for established enterprise software products.
• Experience with Microsoft .NET, C#, ASP.NET, and SQL Server.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure, Azure OpenAI, or AWS.
• Experience with AI agents, orchestration frameworks, and tool calling.
• Experience with document intelligence and natural-language database interfaces.
• Experience developing software for government, healthcare, human services, or other regulated environments.
• Experience with automated software testing and CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience implementing secure multi-tenant software systems.
• Familiarity with model deployment, performance optimization, and AI infrastructure costs.

What Success Looks Like

First 30 Days

• Understand Eaglesun's software architecture and TAS workflows.
• Review existing development practices, security controls, and integration opportunities.
• Establish a practical AI development roadmap.
• Identify and design an initial proof of concept.

First 60 Days

• Deliver a working AI prototype integrated with a nonproduction Eaglesun application environment.
• Establish initial security, testing, and evaluation practices.
• Demonstrate measurable improvements in an identified workflow.

First 90 Days

• Deliver a production-readiness assessment for the initial AI capability.
• Establish reusable AI integration components.
• Present a prioritized six-month implementation roadmap.
• Transfer knowledge to existing engineering personnel.

Work Location

This position is full-time and onsite at Eaglesun Systems in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The employee will work directly with the company's technical leadership and software engineering team.
