Position Summary: Have accounting experience? Strong organization and communication skills? The Illinois Department of Central Management Services is seeking to bring aboard an experienced Account Technician to assist with accounts, verification of invoices, processing payments, researching past expenditures, and tracking non-recurring items with the Bureau of Property Management. This position will also work closely with vendors and contractors regarding account items. All are encouraged to apply!

Position Essential Functions: Under direction of the Contracts/Obligations Manager, independently performs technical accounting work in processing vouchers and maintaining state funds. Reviews payment documents submitted and determines the accuracy of invoices submitted for payment. Serves as designated lead worker for technical accounting staff. Processes complex payment transactions in SAP, including but not limited to travel, commodities, equipment, communications, and service. Provides information to Agency personnel, as well as vendors, regarding the rules and regulations of Agency operations and the procedures and general knowledge of Property Management Fiscal. Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications: Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of two (2) years of college and one (1) year of technical accounting experience or four (4) years of related clerical bookkeeping experience.
