Contract | Days | Onsite | 6:00 AM – 6:30 PM

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 38-bed Medical Surgical unit with a 1:5–6 nurse-to-patient ratio; must be able to manage a 1:6 assignment
• Care for a diverse patient population including adults and possibly older teens with diagnoses such as pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, and respiratory illness, as well as post-surgical patients (orthopedic, general surgery, spinal, and urology)
• Titrate drips including Heparin; administer set-rate drips such as Bumex and Lasix
• Conduct bedside shift report and perform proactive patient rounding; collaborate with CNAs by assisting with call lights and supporting teamwork on the unit
• Document accurately using EPIC ; coordinate with cardiac tech for telemetry monitoring as needed
• May float to the IMCU for Medical Surgical assignments as needed

Required Qualifications

• Active RN licensure
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 1 year of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health record documentation
• Ability to manage a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio
• Experience with bedside shift report
• Must live at least 45 miles from the facility to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience caring for post-surgical patients including orthopedic, spinal, and general surgery populations
• Familiarity with respiratory therapy equipment such as CPAP, BiPAP, high-flow oxygen, and tracheostomy care
• Comfort working in a high-turnover environment with frequent admissions and discharges
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
