Shift: 12hr Night Shift - 36 Shift Information 7p- 7:30a 

Facility Details

• 351 licensed beds
• Teaching hospital
• Certified Chest Pain Center
• Stroke Center
• No trauma designation

Unit Details (Labor & Delivery)

• 10 beds
• Minimum 2 years of experience required
• First-time travelers accepted

Patient Population

• Labor & delivery cases
• Gestational diabetes (GDM)
• Preeclampsia
• Hypertension (HTN)

Patient Ratios

• RN: 1:1 – 1:2 (as per AWHONN standards)
• Surgical tech available on unit

Required Certifications

• BLS
• ACLS
• NRP
• Fetal Heart Monitoring (AWHONN)

Key Skills Required

• Labor & delivery nursing
• Maternal and newborn care
• Vaginal delivery assistance

Department Support

• Surgical Tech support
• Charge nurse (may or may not be in staffing)
• Phlebotomy services available
• No IV/VAT team
• No dedicated resource nurse
• Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
• Intensivist available if needed
• Fetal monitoring available on unit

Technology & Equipment

• EMR: EPIC
• IV Pumps: Baxter
• Medication Dispensing: Omnicell
• Fetal Heart Monitoring systems
• Equipment includes: Novii, Neptune, Bovie, Panda Warmers

Additional Details

• Floating: Not required
• Orientation: NEO + 3 days unit-specific training
• Scrubs: Provided on unit (must change onsite)
• Parking: Free, on campus
• Unit culture: Strong team environment

Shift Details

• 12-hour night shift (36 hours/week)
• Hours: 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Weekend rotation: Every other weekend (EOW)
• Holidays: 75% required
• Call: No call requirements
• Floating: None
• Clinical interview: Not required
