The scope of the job includes diagnosis, troubleshooting, and writing detailed stories for documentation purposes in addition to the physical work done on the truck. Essential Position Functions/Responsibilities Provides technical services to vehicles and equipment. Reads job order and observes and listens to vehicles in operation to resolve malfunctions and plan work procedures. Follows checklists to ensure all critical parts are examined. Coordinates with warranty administrators to ensure maximum profit recapture, including answering questions after repair and tagging warranty parts for return. Adheres to manufacturer's policies and procedures as they relate to labor operations, time, and repair order documentation. Maintains designated workspace in an organized and clean manner. Completes all work according to the applicable safety requirements and published procedures. Properly completes all work assigned by service manager/advisor and test drives vehicles to verify that issues are fixed. Participates in technical training assigned by management. Ensures customer vehicles are returned at the same level of cleanliness prior to being serviced. Makes every effort to achieve production objectives set by management. Examines protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks and adjusts as needed. Develops and maintains friendly and courteous relationships with customers, visitors, and coworkers What We’re Looking For ESSENTIAL EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in heavy duty and medium truck repair along with exceptional mechanical, analytical, and reasoning skills.

Dependable Organized Resourceful Must be able to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Trade school certification in automotive or truck maintenance and repair

ADDITIONAL:

Must have valid Commercial Drivers License (Class B) or ability to acquire Ability to pass DOT drug screen and physical

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, peripheral vision, color vision and ability to adjust focus. The employee is regularly required to use arms, hands and fingers to feel, grasp, push, pull or squeeze and reach. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk and hear. The employee is often required to climb and occasionally required to balance.
