Assistant PT Manager

Overview A Club4Fitness Assistant Personal Training Manager supports the Personal Training Manager (PTM) by mentoring trainers, guiding new staff, and covering for the PTM when unavailable. The role requires thorough knowledge of all aspects of personal training and the ability to perform them independently. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist the PTM by walking new personal training staff through onboarding activities during the first 30 days. Help other personal trainers develop a working knowledge of Peak/ABC (or the membership sales system used at the club). Coach personal trainers on running effective client consultations; shadow trained trainers to evaluate proficiency. Support the PTM in establishing efficient appointment setting for fitness consultations and overall prospecting. Reinforce the need for all personal training personnel to understand and follow club policies, emphasizing cancel/freeze procedures. Conduct session quality reviews of existing personal training staff. Provide training on Trainerize to new trainers. Assist with social media responsibilities. Help fill new trainer schedules with clients. Guide staff in completing monthly trainer business plans and in daily/weekly reporting. Perform “Floor Hours Activities” (10–15hrs weekly) and complete a minimum of 20 consultations per month. Act as the PTM’s right‑hand support in driving revenue through personal training package sales. Maintain a regular personal training schedule while supporting the PTM, including: Deliver fast‑paced, pre‑designed workouts to medium and large groups. Lead and motivate clients during intense training sessions. Build and sustain a highly engaged member participation base. Practically embody the lifestyle recommended to clients. Ensure participant safety during exercise and modify exercises for varying skill levels. Attend weekly and monthly fitness meetings and required educational presentations; assist with preparation and presentation of topics. Address member concerns when the PTM is unavailable. Engage members via social media and promote the brand. Be prepared to learn the full scope of the PTM role over time in this position. Serve as a fitness leader in the community. Qualifications Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Experienced Certified Personal Trainer with prior experience. Knowledge of physiology, exercise technique, and body mechanics enabling guidance for pregnancy training, recovery from illness or injury, and improvements in repetitive motions or alternative endurance/strength activities. Ability to pass a personal training Strength and Conditioning Assessment. Detail‑ and results‑oriented with a high level of professionalism, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask. Positive, motivating, and effective interpersonal communication skills. Desire and capacity to train all fitness levels. Strong presence across social media. CPR/AED certification. Excellent communication and customer‑service skills, gregarious personality, innate motivation, and energy. Demonstrated ability to work autonomously and collaboratively within teams. Minimum Certifications, Education, and Experience High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) required; a 2‑or 4‑year degree in exercise science or a related field preferred. Current fitness certification from an approved education company such as ACSM, ACE, NASM, NCSA, AFFA, or NFPT (NCCA Certified). Must be CPR/AED certified. Work Environment Mental demands: reading, effective verbal and written communication, and maintaining emotional control under pressure. Physical demands: frequent interruptions, climbing, stretching, light lifting, occasional lifting up to 50lbs, frequent computer use, repetitive hand motions. Temperature and humidity are regulated; may rise during group and personal exercise activities. Regular standing, walking, crouching, kneeling, stretching, lifting, and other physical activity required. Sitting, close reading, and typing required. Noise level generally low but can be louder in gym facilities. Travel required. Hours Hours are scheduled and will include early mornings, late evenings, and some weekend assignments. There will also be special occasions and events that require extended hours of availability. Flexibility is essential, and the Assistant Personal Training Manager will fill in when the PTM is not available.
