Staff EngineerThe Water Resources group at AKRF is seeking a Staff Engineer to be based out of the Philadelphia, PA office. This individual will serve a key function in the design and management of a broad range of projects for both our municipal and private sector clients. The potential candidate will have the opportunity to work in an environment of encouragement and collaboration to help AKRF shape the future of the region.Job Responsibilities:Provide project and task support for major engineering design projects including site layout, grading, drainage/storm sewer systems, stormwater management, erosion & sediment pollution control, traffic control, and related supporting disciplines.Support tasks including preparation of site/civil engineering drawings, specifications and reports for projects.Support tasks including preparation of permit packages and municipal land development applications for projects.Support fieldwork including but not limited to impermeable liner testing, soil infiltration testing, erosion and sediment control measures monitoring, and preparing site observation reports.Support project management responsibilities including managing discrete technical tasks and adhering to task budgets and schedules.Day-to-day project communication and coordination with co-workers, clients and other design consultants.Essential Requirements:1-4 years of experienceBachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Environmental Science or a related disciplineProficiency in AutoCAD/Civil 3D is essentialProficiency in hydrologic and hydraulic analysis/modeling preferredExperience with municipal ordinances, Philadelphia regulatory agency standards, PennDOT standards, PADEP standards, and Pennsylvania regulatory agency guidelines preferredExperience integrating geospatial data/GIS in the infrastructure planning and design workflow is a plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to work both independently and collaborativelySuperior attention to detail and organizational abilityMust have a valid driver's licenseApplicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States for any employerCompensationCompensation to be commensurate with experience.Why Work at AKRFFounded in 1981, AKRF is an award-winning consulting firm with 400 planners, engineers, designers, economists, ecologists, geologists, historians, archaeologists, acousticians, and many other types of professionals guided by the belief that to be original is to be transformative.Professionals join and remain at AKRF for our corporate-casual environment that values flexible work schedules and locations, and balances award-winning projects with social impact initiatives, charitable giving, and plenty of fun and games.
