What You’ll Be Doing

• Assists the Kitchen Manager and cooks in quality and portion control of product
• Prepares food that is to be grilled, broiled, steamed, sautéed or prepared for other prep areas
• Ability to communicate and work as part of a team with all departments
• Ability to review and comprehend recipes and other necessary documentation
• Possesses a calm demeanor to work in a high-stress, fast-paced environment
• Follows standardized recipes and/or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, and tasting
• Prepares foods under direct supervision or instruction by operating a variety of kitchen equipment to measure and mix ingredients, washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits, vegetables and trimming and cutting meat, poultry, or fish for culinary use
• Assists other line employees with daily responsibilities
• Prepares production in accordance with established standards set by Kitchen Manager
• Sees to the proper labeling, rotation, storage temperature and environment required.
• Strives to eliminate over-production
• Maintains quality inventory control of your production
• Ensures that production and storage areas are maintained in accordance with city and state health department codes
• Responsible for performing job duties in accordance with mission, vision, and values of the company
• Maintains a clean, safe, hazard-free work environment within area responsibility

 

Who We’re Looking For

• Minimum of one (1) year experience working in restaurants, banquets, or commissary kitchens
• Be able to work weekends, holidays, and extended periods of time
• Embraces the company's core Vision & Values
• Must possess knife skills
• Knowledge of proper food handling procedures
• Attention to detail
• Ability to read, understand and carry out task per plate or recipe guide
• Ability to take, understand and use constructive criticism to produce the best you and the best product
• Ability to bend, stop, kneel, and twist
• Ability to sit, stand and do repetitive work for long periods of time
• Ability to read, write, identify, and verify numbers
• Ability to interpret, understand and follow instructions
• Must maintain personal hygiene in accordance with company standards
• Physical Requirements: Standing extended periods of time, lifting and carrying up to 25 pounds and may require occasional lifting and or moving up to 50 pounds, regularly required to stand and walk, and frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee frequently must squat, stoop, or kneel, reach above the head and reach forward.

 

What You Can Expect

• $15.00/hr, starting pay with opportunity for an increase after 90 days
• Monday – Thursday schedule from 7am – finish (typically 5:00pm)
