Responsibilities
- Screen gynecologic and non-gynecologic cytology specimens to detect cancer or other pathological conditions; mark abnormalities; render diagnoses; determine cases for quality control or review with a pathologist.
- Perform quality control and quality assurance procedures to maintain compliance with internal and external regulations and protocols.
- Conduct rapid on-site evaluation (ROSE) using tele-pathology for the collection, processing, and immediate evaluation of Fine Needle Aspirations.
- Prepare slides, document results in the laboratory information system, and maintain accurate case records.
- Collaborate with the cytology and pathology team to ensure accuracy, turnaround times, and appropriate case prioritization.
- Maintain equipment and adhere to safety, infection control, and workflow standards.

Requirements
- Active New York State license to practice Cytotechnologist
- ASCP certification required
- Minimum 5 years Cytotechnologist experience
- Experience with EBUS, EUS, and thyroid FNA procedures
- Experience with EPIC electronic medical records
- Ability to work in a hospital travel assignment environment
