Lead Software Engineer - Backend (Golang / AWS)Apex Systems is seeking an experienced Lead Software Engineer to design, build, and deliver scalable cloud-native applications. In this role, you will lead development efforts across complex backend systems, partner with cross-functional teams, and help drive engineering best practices within a modern cloud environment.The ideal candidate is a hands-on technical leader with strong Golang experience, expertise in AWS, and a passion for building highly available, distributed systems.Key ResponsibilitiesLead the design, development, and delivery of scalable backend applications and microservices.Provide technical leadership and mentorship to software engineers across the team.Collaborate with product managers, architects, and engineering teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.Design and implement cloud-native applications using AWS services and modern engineering practices.Champion software quality through code reviews, testing, and continuous improvement initiatives.Evaluate, adopt, and leverage emerging technologies and engineering best practices.Support DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and containerized application deployments.Contribute to system architecture decisions focused on performance, reliability, security, and scalability.Utilize AI-enabled development tools and automation capabilities to improve engineering productivity and delivery efficiency.Required QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.4+ years of professional software engineering experience.1+ year of hands-on cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.Experience developing backend applications using Golang or other modern programming languages.Experience building and supporting distributed systems and microservices architectures.Strong understanding of software design principles, API development, and cloud-native application development.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline.7+ years of software engineering experience with significant Golang development experience.2+ years of experience working with AWS or another major cloud platform.Experience with containerization and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.Experience with both relational and NoSQL database technologies.Experience utilizing open-source frameworks and modern development tools.2+ years working within Agile delivery environments.Experience leveraging AI-assisted development tools to improve software delivery and engineering productivity.Experience with languages and technologies such as Java, Python, SQL, Node.js, Scala, and cloud-native services.Desired Technical EnvironmentGolangAWS Cloud ServicesDocker & KubernetesMicroservices ArchitectureRESTful APIsSQL & NoSQL DatabasesCI/CD PipelinesAgile/Scrum MethodologiesAI-Assisted Development ToolsEverforth Apex is a world-class IT services company that serves thousands of clients across the globe.
