About Our Client

Our client’s organization is a growing fashion company that designs and manufactures its own urban fashion brand, offering regular-priced apparel for major retailers. The company also develops a small percentage of private-label programs for major off-price retail chains in the United States.

As the company continues to grow and anticipates further expansion, it is seeking to add a Fashion Apparel Graphic Designer, Korean/English Bilingual . This role requires working closely with the internal design and production teams for overseas apparel production process.

The organization operates from locations, its headquarter-office in Carlstadt, New Jersey and in New York, New York showroom.

Position Overview

Our client organization is seeking a candidate who demonstrates understanding, enthusiasm, and a collaborative approach to the Fashion Apparel Graphic Designer role. Objectives of this role

• Proficiently use of Adobe Illustrator and Photoshop, graphic images of design of apparel creation for the seasonal apparel design and artwork direction through highly creative and inspiring research and concepts.
• Partnering with Senior Design leadership on color palette and accent colors based on creative direction.
• Researching trends in brand-relevant prints and graphics, providing inspirational images to validate the proposed apparel-garment design assortment including tech-packs shared with overseas factories.
• Assist in daily communication between the overseas team and the factories.
• Initial base fabric proposal for the recommended graphic/print proposal.
• Develop ongoing fabric manipulation techniques to develop an archive.
• Finger to the pulse on branding and labeling, partnering with the design team for brand identifiers on garments.
• Create artwork for any new labels/holiday packaging for seasonal developments.
• Partner with Senior Design Leadership and cross-category design leads to move projects from kickoff through production hand-off, ensuring alignment with brand vision and design standards.
• Create original print and artwork, set up repeats, and include color separations and formatting based on factory requirements.
• Manage information flow and collaboration between cross-functional teams across various product categories.
• Develop and maintain digital and physical presentation boards for design reviews, ensuring the work is up-to-date and accurate.
• Work proactively against development calendars to stay ahead of deadlines and key milestones.

Required Skills and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Apparel, Production Management, Textile, Pattern Making and/or Graphic Design with fashion garment construction knowledge.
• Minimum 2 to 4 years of professional experience in Graphic/Print Design within the apparel industry, with a proven and relevant portfolio.
• Expertise in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and related design programs.
• Strong hand drawing and painting skills, with the ability to adapt artistic style to diverse briefs.
• Solid working knowledge of fabrics, print techniques, and product development processes.
• Strong familiarity with fashion trends, textiles, and art history.
• Highly developed taste level with exceptional color sensibility.
• Extremely organized, detail-oriented, and adept at time management with strict calendar adherence.
• Portfolio work that reflects strong design sensibility, creative innovation, and relevance to the apparel market.
• Demonstrate an excellent understanding of production priorities and urgency while taking responsibility for timely and effective communication with offshore vendors and domestic clients.
• Strong attention to detail and good follow-up skills.
• Understanding of fashion trends and market changes.
• Highly responsible, well-organized, and able to multitask effectively.
• Korean-English bilingual proficiency is required.

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency in AI tools use is a plus.

Pay is based on several factors, including but not limited to education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, the organization offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, which is subject to eligibility requirements.
