SENIOR DATABASE ENGINEER

Senior Database Engineer/DBAThe Senior Database Engineer/DBA will be responsible for supporting and coordinating all database activities in a MSSQL Server environment. This includes designing and creating databases, provisioning of roles and users, security and access control, deploying scripts, database optimization, monitoring, backup/recovery, resolving complex user related problems, and monitoring all database related work orders in a timely manner.Provide database engineering support for large mission-critical systems running Microsoft SQL Server • Implement high availability, database replication, database sharding and partitioning • Learn new database technologies as application architecture evolves • Diagnose and resolve production database and application problems within defined SLAs • Develop proactive alert and monitoring tools to assist in high performance of large Microsoft SQL Server environment. • Plan and implement database upgrades and migrations as needed. • Assist internal and external stakeholders in developing high-performing queries and ETL solutionsFamiliarity with AWS, on-premises, and Hybrid cloud solutions • Experience with identifying database performance issues and making recommendations towards resolution • Ability to write and maintain PowerShell, Python scripts • Knowledge of Agile Methodologies • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbalYour Education & Experience: • Bachelors or Master degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or Engineering preferred • experience in Database Engineering (or Administration) with MSSQL Server in a production environment • Strong experience automating Database tasks via scripting methodologies (PowerShell, Python, etc.
