The Heart & Vascular Sonographer performs non‑invasive cardiovascular ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in the diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular conditions. This role requires strong technical skills, independent clinical judgment, and a commitment to delivering a compassionate and informative patient experience. What You’ll Do Patient Care & Communication Greet and accurately identify patients using approved safety protocols Review physician orders, patient history, medications, and prior imaging Explain procedures clearly, answer questions, and ease patient concerns Partner closely with patients, families, physicians, and care teams Deliver service aligned with The Christ Hospital’s values of compassion, respect, and excellence Clinical & Imaging Responsibilities Perform high‑quality cardiac and vascular ultrasound studies, including but not limited to: Echocardiography (transthoracic, stress, contrast as applicable) Vascular ultrasound studies (carotid, venous, arterial, and related exams) Acquire accurate images and measurements following established protocols Recognize abnormal findings and communicate urgent results appropriately Ensure diagnostic‑quality studies for physician interpretation Maintain equipment functionality and imaging quality standards Qualification Education Graduate of an accredited Diagnostic Medical Sonography or Cardiovascular Ultrasound program Credential ARDMS/CCI registered or registry eligible Must pass the registry within the first year of employment if not registered at time of hire Maintain continuing education requirements as set forth by ARDMS, CCI, ICAVL, and ICAE Experience Must have at least one‑year previous experience performing respective modality; OR must be a graduate of or within 6 months of hire date graduation from a diagnostic ultrasound program, preferably CAAHEP approved Skill Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with hospital management, physicians and technologists Current knowledge of technology and clinical advances related to cardiac and/or vascular sonography Working knowledge of accreditation, credentialing, and quality assurance procedures Basic understanding of imager configuration, DICOM standards, networking and medical record #J-18808-Ljbffr The Christ Hospital Health Network
