About This Opportunity IMPORTANT NOTE: This is an in‑person position based at our Austin, Texas campus. Traditional schools focus on teaching students what to think. This position focuses on teaching them how to execute. Alpha is creating a reimagined high school experience—one where students don't passively absorb lectures or memorize facts, but build, ship, communicate, and advance. They launch projects, validate ideas, and acquire real‑world capabilities that many adults never develop. Your responsibility is to ensure they follow through at a high standard. You will engage directly with high school students as they launch businesses, manage projects, and cultivate the confidence, communication skills, and competence necessary for post‑graduation success. You are here to coach execution, establish rigorous expectations, maintain accountability, and challenge students to produce work that meets professional standards. What You Will Be Doing Create and facilitate hands‑on workshops (40% of your time) covering areas such as entrepreneurship, financial literacy, personal branding, and additional practical domains, leveraging your professional background. Provide 1:1 coaching (60% of your time) as students execute real projects across business ventures, marketing initiatives, and software development, using targeted questions to identify obstacles and drive measurable advancement. Maintain rigorous standards for confidence, communication, and competence; step in when performance declines and establish concrete commitments during each session. Guide students in leveraging AI platforms (ChatGPT, Claude) for content generation, refinement, and efficiency gains. Maintain direct communication with students and parents regarding progress, performance gaps, and action plans. What You Won’t Be Doing Conducting traditional lectures or following a standardized curriculum. Evaluating large volumes of homework assignments or emphasizing theoretical concepts. Supporting unmotivated students through excessive accommodation or compromising standards for comfort. Functioning within a slow‑moving, bureaucratic educational institution. Key Responsibilities Produce measurable advancement in students' confidence, communication abilities, and practical competence by coaching them to execute consistently at a high standard. Basic Requirements Documented record of significant personal achievement in at least one practical domain: launching a business, building an audience, generating revenue, producing research, competing at an elite level, or equivalent. Demonstrated capability to coach teenagers through resistance or avoidance behaviors. 3+ years experience coaching/mentoring teenagers. Direct, transparent communication approach: confident presenting to groups and providing candid feedback to teenagers and parents. Proficiency with AI/technology tools (ChatGPT, Claude, etc.). Available to work on‑site in Austin, TX. Relocation support is provided. Authorized to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship. Nice‑to‑Have Requirements Specialized expertise in at least one practical field (entrepreneurship, medicine, sales, technology, creative industries, finance, athletics) that you can integrate into coaching sessions and workshops with depth. Background working in a startup or high‑growth organization at any capacity.
