Staff AccountantLocation: Goshen, NY – full-time onsiteCompensation: $55,000 – $65,000 depending on experienceAbout the Company/RoleCFS has partnered with an insurance agency based in Goshen, NY to identify their new Staff Accountant. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Accounting Manager and Senior Staff Accountant to perform clerical, bookkeeping, and accounting assignments.ResponsibilitiesAssists with accounts payable and/or accounts receivable functions.Responsible for receiving payments, creating daily deposits, and bank transactions.Responsible for agency billing, sending invoices to account managers and direct bill commission postings.Receiving and posting direct bill customer payments and pay carriers when applicable.Prepares financial reports and various accounting statements.Proofs accounting reports for clerical accuracy and posts journal entries to general ledger.Allocates expenditures to correct accounts as needed according to departmental procedures.Responds to all correspondence and phone calls in a timely and professional manner.Complies with all company policies and procedures.Performs any other related duties required by management.Desired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in accounting/finance.1+ years of hands-on accounting experience.Prior experience with Excel.
