Session Physician

Session physician would provide vasectomies in our Schenectady and/or Newburgh health centers. ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Direct Clinical Care (90%): Provide vasectomies under local anesthesia. Clinical Consultation and Training (5%): Provide clinical consultation to advance practice physicians. Administrative (5%): Participate in center chart audit procedures and review laboratory and diagnostic reports as appropriate. Report to the Regional Medical Director on all medical complications and other matters as needed. Participate in PPGNY’s quality management activities, including Debriefings and Root Cause Analyses, as required. Ensure compliance with PPGNY and regulatory agencies’ standards and guidelines. Complete all responsibilities according to established protocols, policies, and standard practices in customer service, ADA, and HIPAA. Manage health-related emergency conditions with independent decision making. Exercise discretion with confidential information. Demonstrate evidence-based clinical judgment. REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Education: Completion of medical or osteopathic coursework and active certification by the American Board of Urology or the American Board of Family Medicine. Licensed to practice in New York State. Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of vasectomy provision. Basic computer/EMR proficiency. Licenses/Certifications: Current NYS physician license and registration. Current BLS certification. Typical Physical Demands Prolonged sitting, repetitive computer use, frequent standing, walking, bending, stair use, and lifting patients/supplies. Visual acuity for computer screens and printed documents. Auditory ability for verbal communication. Typical Working Conditions Professional office environment with exposure to communicable diseases; may require travel to other health centers, inclement weather, additional hours during peak periods, and a flexible schedule.
