Lab Assistant - Microbiology

Labcorp seeks a Lab Assistant for clinical specimen processing in Birmingham, AL. The role involves receiving, sorting, and preparing specimens for testing, along with data entry, equipment maintenance, and administrative support in a fast-paced laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

Receive, sort, and prepare clinical lab specimens for analysis
Perform data entry and scanning of specimen and patient information
Ensure lab equipment functionality and perform routine maintenance
Maintain clean and safe work environment; replenish supplies
Troubleshoot specimen-related issues and follow standard operating procedures

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Comfortable handling biological specimens safely
Ability to accurately identify and process specimens
Basic computer knowledge and data entry skills
Ability to pass color blindness test
Strong attention to detail and multitasking capability
