Job Summary:

Responsible for performing various administrative, secretarial and clerical duties. Understands and follows the organization's policies, procedures and standards. Is an independent worker, meeting the day-to-day needs of the director and the department. Participates in the department's and organization's performance improvement activities.


Duties:

• Greets visitors, directs visitors appropriately; maintains the communication flow of the office.
• Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized during stressful situations.
• Answers the telephone in a professional manner; screens calls, takes messages, directs calls appropriately.
• Sorts, logs and distributes all incoming mail; identifies mail that needs immediate attention.
• Maintains an organized, efficient filing system. Debrides files according to established department and hospital guidelines.
• Records, prepares and distributes meeting minutes.
• Orders supplies and printing weekly. Assists in cost containment through appropriate ordering and conserving of supplies and equipment.
• Interacts professionally with all visitors, within the department/office and with other departments.
• Transcribes from dictated or written material minutes, memoranda, policies, procedures and reports.
• Accepts other duties as assigned.

Regulatory Requirements:

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Previous knowledge of medical terminology required ( great role for a care technician looking to step away from direct patient care )
• Must be able to use office software's such as Microsoft, Word, Excel
• Must be an organized multi tasker with strong written and verbal skills

• Work Type: Per Diem
• Standard Hours: 8 hr shifts
• Work Schedule: Eve 8
• Work Shift: variable - weekends and holidays as needed
• Department: Emergency Department
