We believe our employees are our greatest asset, we stand by our word, and we prioritize our customers above all else.Position OverviewThe 2nd Shift Production Manager is responsible for leading all production operations during the evening shift, ensuring excellence in Safety, Quality, and Production. This role provides leadership to production supervisors and frontline employees while driving operational performance, labor efficiency, and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, customer-dedicated manufacturing environment.Reporting to the Plant Manager, the Production Manager oversees daily production activities, ensures compliance with customer and regulatory requirements, and builds a culture of accountability, teamwork, and operational excellence.Key ResponsibilitiesOperations LeadershipLead all 2nd shift production operations to achieve safety, quality, and productivity goalsSupervise production supervisors and frontline employees to ensure efficient execution of production schedulesMonitor production performance, downtime, and throughput while driving improvements in operational efficiencyCoordinate with Warehouse, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Quality teams to ensure uninterrupted productionSafety & QualityEnforce all safety, food safety, and quality programs, including GMP, AIB, and customer requirementsEnsure compliance with company policies, regulatory standards, and customer specificationsPromote a culture where safety and quality remain the highest prioritiesTeam Leadership & DevelopmentLead, coach, and develop production supervisors and hourly team membersFoster accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement throughout the shiftSupport employee training, performance management, and workforce developmentPartner with staffing agencies to effectively manage temporary labor and staffing levelsContinuous ImprovementDrive root cause analysis and corrective actions for production, quality, and safety issuesIdentify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce waste, and increase line efficiencySupport Lean manufacturing initiatives and process improvement effortsOperational ManagementMonitor labor utilization and production metrics to achieve operational targetsMaintain accurate production reporting and system data, including WMS and production tracking systemsEnsure effective communication and shift handoff between production teamsSupport implementation of company initiatives and operational best practicesQualifications5+ years of manufacturing leadership experience (food, packaging, or consumer packaged goods preferred)Experience leading production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environmentStrong knowledge of GMP, food safety, and quality systemsProven ability to improve production performance and labor efficiencyExperience with WMS and manufacturing systemsStrong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skillsBilingual (English/Spanish) preferredAbility to work 2nd shift in a manufacturing environmentWorking ConditionsNon-climate-controlled manufacturing environmentRequires standing and walking for extended periodsOccasional lifting and movement throughout the production floorAbility to work flexible hours as needed to support production demandsWhy Join Qual Pac / Pro PacEstablished, stable company with over 50 years of successOpportunity to lead operations supporting a major national brandFast-paced environment with opportunities to make an immediate impactCollaborative, team-oriented culture focused on operational excellenceCareer growth opportunities within a growing organizationApply TodayIf you are a hands-on manufacturing leader who thrives in a fast-paced production environment and enjoys developing teams while driving operational performance, we encourage you to apply.
