Job Overview Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) position at St. James. Responsible for providing professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care under the supervision of a registered nurse or advanced practice provider. Job Details Work Shift: Varies (United States) Compensation: $27.00 – $36.00 per hour Union: No Benefits: 401(k) retirement plan available Responsibilities Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles for residents in the relevant clinical setting. Practice within the full scope of nursing expertise/knowledge and utilize appropriate age and population specific standards related to the physical and psychosocial needs of the resident as per the care plan. Perform testing to evaluate data reflective of the resident's status and provide the needed care. Recognize problems, recommend solutions, and respond effectively to assist in emergent situations. Ensure the health, comfort and safety of residents. Contribute to the assessment of residents and administer medications or treatments as ordered. Provide technical support to healthcare professionals as needed. Document resident interactions and the outcomes related to resident care, medication, behavior, activity, and dietary. Establish and maintain effective working relationships with residents, health care providers, and the public. Work effectively with professional and supportive personnel as a member of an interdisciplinary care team. Communicate clearly and maintain confidentiality of sensitive information. Counsel residents, family members, and/or resident advocates on prevention and treatment plans under the direction of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician. Apply knowledge of resident education principles to develop a self-care program. Perform other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as an Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). Associate degree in practical nursing is preferred. Currently holds an unencumbered LPN license with the State Nursing board and/or possesses multi‑state licensure privileges. Obtains and maintains required department‑specific competencies and certifications. Completes required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training of the department and facility. If the position requires IV therapy/management skills, holds a graduation from a Board approved AASPN program where IV therapy is part of the curriculum or has completed an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing. Has attended a pre‑licensure nursing program that included supervised clinical experience across the lifespan or has had a minimum of 400 hours of experience as an LPN at another facility. Specific services/positions may have additional education, training, or experience requirements. Benefits Competitive hourly pay: $27 – $36 per hour based on experience. Flexible schedule.
