Quality Assurance Lab Technician

Quality Assurance Technician (Lab Tech) Pay: $22/hr- $27/hr 1st shift opportunity Location: Broadview, IL Express Employment Professionals in Brookfield is currently seeking a detail-oriented and dependable Quality Assurance Technician to join a growing manufacturing team. This role is ideal for someone with previous quality, laboratory, or manufacturing experience who enjoys working in a fast-paced production environment and takes pride in maintaining high product standards. Key Responsibilities Perform routine quality testing on raw materials, in-process products, and finished materials to ensure compliance with company and customer specifications. Conduct physical and mechanical testing such as hardness, melt flow, tensile strength, and visual inspections. Operate and maintain laboratory equipment including balances, ovens, presses, extrusion equipment, and testing instruments. Accurately document testing results, quality findings, and production data within company systems. Identify non-conforming materials or out-of-specification results and communicate concerns to leadership. Assist with investigations, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement initiatives related to quality and production processes. Work closely with Production, Shipping and Quality teams to help maintain production schedules and product consistency. Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment while following all company safety procedures and PPE requirements. Qualifications Previous experience in quality assurance, quality control, laboratory testing, or manufacturing environments required. Experience within plastics, thermoplastics, automotive, or other regulated manufacturing industries is highly preferred. Strong attention to detail and ability to recognize inconsistencies or defects. Comfortable using computers, Microsoft Office, and quality tracking systems. Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with team members and leadership. High School Diploma or GED required. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field is a plus. Physical Requirements Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 60 lbs consistently throughout the shift. Comfortable working in both laboratory and manufacturing environments. Must be able to wear required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, and safety shoes.
