Quick Facts Location: UP Health System Portage, 500 Campus Drive, Hancock, MI 49930 Start Date: 08/14/2026 Duration: Ongoing assignment Shift: Call coverage (7 am - 7 am) on scheduled dates Hours/Week: As scheduled Employment Type: Contract / Locum Tenens Licensure/Certifications: Active MI License, MI CDS, MI DEA, ABOS Board Certification required Experience: Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery, experience with Total Joints preferred Pay & Benefits Hourly Pay Rate: $1.00/hour Benefits Include: Competitive pay packages Weekly pay via direct deposit Medical benefits (W-2) Robust referral bonus program 24/7 dedicated team support Paid sick time in accordance with law Licensure, certification, travel, and other reimbursements when applicable What You ll Do Provide orthopedic call coverage for trauma cases, including fractures and sports injuries Collaborate with onsite surgical staff and orthopedic PAs Participate in the digital radiology workflows and manage follow-up cases Handle routine and complex orthopedic cases (excluding spine) Respond to ER consult requests during scheduled on-call times Support the trauma and emergency care team in a Level III Trauma Facility What You Need Active MI Medical License, MI CDS, MI DEA Board Certified in Orthopaedic Surgery (ABOS) Experience in total joints and general orthopedic procedures Strong communication and collaborative skills Ability to manage trauma cases efficiently and safely About the Assignment Join a reputable healthcare facility in Hancock, MI, offering a dynamic environment for orthopedic surgeons.
