Revenue Cycle Assistant- Patient Financial Services 150 East 42nd Street

Roles & Responsibilities:

The Revenue Cycle Assistant is responsible for various aspects of the receivable management process for the Patient Financial Services (PFS) Department. The Revenue Cycle Assistant collects, analyzes data within the Patient Accounting Systems and ensures proper reimbursement for services provided and in compliance with coding, payment rules and regulations.

Responsibilities include:

• Answering questions, resolving issues related to patient account statements, balance due, and other patient and insurance billing issues.
• Analyzing patients' issues presented by collecting information, and conducting thorough research within the Patient Accounts System.
• Reviewing information for appropriate solution and taking necessary action to resolve issues.
• Reconciling patient accounts receivable deposit including payment/charge posting.
• Following through on all patients/customers issues promptly and accurately until completion. Ensuring that all work items are tracked into Eagle System.
• Communicating with patients/customers, collection agency, internal departments in a professional, respectful and courteous manner.
• Reviewing specific cases, re-billing and following up with third party payers for accounts receivables.
• Performing assigned duties as required.

Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED required. Associate degree preferred.
• Microsoft Office - Intermediate.
• Working knowledge of CPT, ICD-9 coding and medical terminology
• 2 years of experience in medical practice/outpatient coding/payment/charge posting preferred.
• Assessments will be required (Typing, Data and/or Excel)

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $49,332.17 - $54,105.86 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
