Overview Field Engineering Technician I - Tukwila, Washington Intertek, a leading provider of quality and safety solutions to many of the world’s top-recognized brands and companies, is actively seeking a Field Engineering Technician I to join our Professional Services Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) team in our Tukwila, Washington office. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow a versatile career in the architectural, engineering, and construction (A/E/C) industry. Intertek-PSI is a leading US based provider of construction assurance, testing and inspection in civil and commercial construction, with services including construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing. The base wage or salary range for this position is $22 p/h – $39 p/h. Individual compensation packages are based on a variety of factors unique to each candidate including skill set, experience, qualifications, and other job-related reasons. What you’ll do: Responsibilities Operate testing equipment and conduct construction testing (example: soil, concrete, asphalt, or other) and provide assessment of data through reporting Utilize drawings, specifications, and diagrams Use specific methods and perform tasks to make detailed observations of site activities and provide limited interpretation of results Maintain detailed documentation and data from test results Communicate effectively with client and project teams This position outline is a general guideline and does not represent all-encompassing details. Minimum Requirements & Qualifications Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently; occasionally over 50 pounds with assistance Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication (hearing) and to make discriminations in sound Ability to kneel and squat occasionally and be able to walk/stand for long periods of time Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions, including hot and cold temperatures Ability to climb occasionally and work at various heights Ability to work overnight hours and off shift Valid driver’s license and reliable driving record Must be able to work off shift and overtime as needed Preferred Requirements & Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent 1 year Construction Materials / Density Testing experience ACI certification or other construction related certifications Intertek is a drug-free workplace.
