Maintenance Mechanic Job

Overview Our polymer manufacturing plant in Birdsboro, PA is looking for a Maintenance Mechanic to support plant operations. Arkema in Birdsboro has around 65 employees but we are part of a larger organization with over 21,000 employees worldwide. Hours: 40 hours/week with overtime as necessary. On-site gym General Summation of Job Duties Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Maintain reliability and functionality of all mechanical equipment and processes utilized in manufacturing and laboratory operations. Perform preventative maintenance tasks to maintain equipment dependability. Diagnose, trouble shoot, and perform required tasks to maintain equipment operational status. Proficiency in welding (piping, supports, and framework), pipefitting, blueprint reading, rigging, and equipment installation. Practical experience with pumps and seals; familiarization with valve packing and gasketing. Analyze and repair electrical power failures within operating processes. Perform backup services for the C&I Mechanic or be willing to learn all electrical requirements. Requirements Possess varied mechanical skills relating to building repairs, painting, etc. Practical experience and training of at least five (5) years in an industrial high-tech atmosphere as a Mechanic or equivalent craft. Capability to follow written procedures; strong communication and interpersonal skills. Comply with all technical, quality control, product, manufacturing, and safety procedures and instructions. Must have physical dexterity for climbing stairs, ladders, and handling the manual requirements of maintenance operations. Must be able to operate powered industrial trucks, including high reach, scissors lift, and skid loader units. Must exhibit safe work practices and be available to work overtime as required.
