License Practical Nurse - Medical Surgical Unit

Job Summary Position: LPN – Med Surg Location: SSM Health St. Joseph Hospital – Lake St. Louis, Missouri Schedule: Full time, Night shift 7:00pm–7:30am, varying days with every 3rd weekend and holiday requirement. No on‑call requirement. Responsibilities Contribute to the assessment of patients and ensure their well‑being. Administer medications and observe patients for adverse reactions to medications or treatments. Educate patients/families about disease treatment plan, including self‑care post‑discharge, holistic health needs, available resources, and follow‑up care. Maintain a continuous state of alertness and perform duties safely. May perform point‑of‑care testing according to policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Education & Experience Graduate of an accredited school of nursing or an education equivalency for licensing. No experience required. Physical Requirements Requires constant use of speech; constant standing and walking; frequent lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects 0‑25lbs; frequent sitting, reaching, and keyboard use; frequent use of vision, hearing, and smell; occasional lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling of objects 25‑50lbs; occasional patient moving; occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, squatting, twisting, gripping; occasional driving; rare crawling and running. Licensing & Certifications Required: State of Missouri Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license and Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA).
