Fabrication and Project Manager

Position overview JMark Systems is seeking a hands-on fabrication and project management leader to guide the assembly, delivery, and installation of custom industrial water treatment systems. This role combines shop-floor leadership with technical project ownership. The right candidate will understand how engineered systems come together, communicate effectively with project managers and customers, and keep people, materials, budgets, and schedules aligned from approved drawings through startup.
Key responsibilities- Lead day-to-day fabrication and assembly activities, assign work, monitor progress, and maintain clear priorities for the shop team.
- Oversee system assembly, quality checks, preparation for shipment, delivery, field installation, and service support.
- Manage assigned projects from handoff through completion, coordinating scope, schedule, budget, documentation, customer communication, and internal execution.
- Review layouts and drawings with the project management and engineering teams before they are submitted to customers for approval, with particular attention to constructability, piping, assembly, and field installation requirements.
- Develop material takeoffs and purchase assembly components, steel, piping, fittings, valves, and other field installation materials.
- Coordinate JMark employees and outside resources required for on-site installation, startup, troubleshooting, and service work.
- Work closely with project managers, drafting, sales support, vendors, and leadership to identify issues early and keep projects moving.
- Maintain accurate project and production information, including purchasing status, material availability, work-in-process updates, change documentation, and completion milestones.
- Promote safe work practices, strong workmanship, shop organization, accountability, and continuous improvement.
- Help train and develop fabrication and assembly employees while serving as a practical technical resource to the broader team.
- Experience leading fabrication, mechanical assembly, industrial plumbing, equipment installation, or a closely related operation.
- Working knowledge of piping systems, pumps, valves, tanks, skids, fittings, and mechanical equipment assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams, layouts, bills of material, and technical specifications.
- Demonstrated ability to lead employees, coordinate multiple workstreams, solve problems, and hold a team accountable for quality and deadlines.
- Project management experience involving schedules, purchasing, budgets, documentation, vendors, field work, and customer communication.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and the willingness to work directly with the team when technical or schedule challenges arise.
- Clear written and verbal communication skills and comfort working across engineering, operations, sales, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to travel to customer sites as needed for installation, startup, training, or service.
- Engineering degree, engineering technology degree, plumbing background, or equivalent technical training and field experience.
- Experience building or installing industrial water treatment, wastewater treatment, process equipment, packaged systems, or custom skids.
- Experience with reverse osmosis systems, clarifiers, pumps, controls, stainless steel or carbon steel fabrication, and industrial piping.
- Experience using project scheduling, ERP, inventory, drawing management, or collaboration software.
- Understanding of quality control, commissioning, jobsite safety, and continuous-improvement practices.
- Projects move from approved design through assembly, shipment, and installation with fewer surprises and clearer ownership.
- The fabrication team understands daily priorities, has the materials and information needed to work efficiently, and consistently meets JMark quality standards.
- Drawings, material takeoffs, purchasing, schedules, budgets, and field requirements stay aligned throughout each project.
- Customers and internal teams receive timely, practical communication when issues or changes arise.
