Staff Systems Engineer, Integration

Salary: $180,000 - 240,000 per year Requirements:

• We are seeking a highly seasoned systems engineer with deep experience in systems integration, requirements management, system design, and verification and validation for civil-certified or military safety-critical avionics and mission systems.
• We prefer a BS in Electrical, Aerospace, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline; an MS is preferred.
• We need 10+ years of systems engineering experience on FAA, EASA, or military certification programs, or 8+ years with a masters degree.
• We are looking for proven leadership in solving complex systems and architecture challenges across aircraft integration and software.
• We value hands-on experience working across multi-disciplinary teams, including hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, and test engineering.
• We require experience with requirements management tools and related processes.
• We expect practical experience integrating avionics and/or integrated mission equipment using civil or military standards for flight safety, equipment qualification, and airworthiness.
• We need demonstrated ability to develop system-level requirements, architecture, interfaces, and to perform requirements validation and verification.
• We prefer familiarity with general aviation aircraft integration.
• Bonus qualifications include experience with general aviation platforms such as the Cessna Caravan, automatic flight controls, flight management or display systems, software requirements and verification, FAA/EASA/military regulations and standards, and tools such as Simulink, Cameo, IADS, Jama, and JIRA.

• We guide system development and end-to-end traceability from requirements capture through design decisions and final demonstration across aircraft implementations.
• We facilitate concept of operations development, system architecture design, requirements definition, measures of performance, and certification planning and execution for our product integrations.
• We collaborate with safety, hardware, simulation, and software teams to capture, document, and communicate requirements and interfaces.
• We lead design reviews for senior leadership and serve as the primary technical stakeholder across supporting functional disciplines.
• We manage systems engineering tasking and coordinate disciplines to ensure timely and successful completion.
• We contribute to the development of systems engineering plans and processes as needed.
• We participate in artifact reviews with customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities when required.
