PRIMARY CARE - GROVE CITY

675 N. Broad St. Ext. Ste. 3 Grove City, PA 16127, USA Perform administrative and secretarial functions in direct support of the Physician Practice. Position has direct customer contact to obtain accurate demographic and insurance information and to facilitate scheduling the patient for appointments and procedures. Communicate with internal and external customers. Facilitate referrals, authorizations, scheduling, and patient flow through the process. Essential Job Functions Ensure a positive customer service atmosphere in the reception area. Interact with co‑workers and internal customers in a respectful and professional manner. Process telephone calls and messages promptly, accurately, courteously, and efficiently. Follow recommended department guidelines for triage and scheduling of patients. Process patient information and pre-register patients at the time of or prior to the visit date. Enter all information into the billing system per established policies and procedures. Accurately code visits based on diagnoses given. Identify coding discrepancies and seek clarification to maximize reimbursement and minimize rejections. Enter all charges and codes into the billing system accurately. Make every effort to collect payment at the time of visit. Accurately complete cash sheets and deliver them daily to the appropriate location. Assist in maintaining and reducing departmental costs. Facilitate patient access to care, including scheduling and referrals. Coordinate and submit necessary information to obtain timely authorizations. Demonstrate accountability for professional development. Act as a patient advocate. Perform effectively as a preceptor or mentor to new hires and/or students. Demonstrate problem‑solving skills and seek assistance from the supervisor when appropriate. Assist in compliance with annual surveys and other regulatory agencies. Participate in continuous survey readiness and performance‑improvement initiatives. Assist in data collection as directed by the manager/physician. Incorporate practice‑based performance‑improvement initiatives that have been implemented. Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work environment. Ensure supplies are replenished daily. Other duties as assigned. Required Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or next level of higher education. Strong leadership, organizational, independent and critical thinking, and sound judgment skills. Strong ability to communicate complex or controversial topics to a diverse audience. Preferred Qualifications Previous outpatient office experience; at least two (2) years in a medical, billing, fiscal, or customer service function. Experience with medical terminology and third‑party health‑care coverage. License, Certification & Clearances PA Act 34 Pennsylvania Access to Criminal History Clearance. Supervisory Responsibilities This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor for other department positions. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work Regular, consistent, on‑site, and timely attendance. Scheduling based on operational need (rotate shifts, standby, on‑call, etc.).
