Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a float pool ICU position requiring Epic proficiency, multi-ICU float capability, and a minimum of 2 years of critical care experience.

Details

• Float pool position requiring rotation across multiple ICUs, including MICU, CIVCU, NICU, SICU, TICU, and Burn ICU
• Patient ratio of 1:2
• Day shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts (7:00–19:30)
• Every other weekend required
• Holiday coverage required
• No on-call responsibilities
• Epic EMR experience required

Requirements

• Active LA RN license or Compact RN license currently in hand (pending not accepted)
• Required certifications: BLS and ACLS
• Preferred certifications: CPI, CCRN, and NIHSS
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Core ICU skills required include: IV therapy, arterial line management, central line care, PICC line management, ventilator management, vasoactive and cardiac drip titration, continuous IV sedation and paralytics, and hemodynamic monitoring
• Preferred skills include: ECMO management, CVVHD/CRRT, care of post-cardiac surgery patients, ICP monitoring, and experience in Burn, Neuro, Surgical, Trauma, or Cardiovascular ICU settings
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Two recent supervisor references required (within the past 12 months)
• Copy of Driver's License required for consideration
• Any license disciplinary history must be disclosed along with a personal statement

Additional Information

• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Maximum of 5 days of RTO allowed for the duration of the contract
• Former permanent employees of the health system must have been separated for at least 1 year before being eligible for a travel position
• Local candidates residing within 75 miles of the facility are accepted at a local rate
• Non-billable orientation modules are completed prior to start and vary in length by specialty; completion is tracked by the facility's education department
• Work history gaps of more than 30 days must be listed and explained in the candidate profile
