Terms and Conditions apply Job Overview The Pharmacy Manager manages inpatient and/or ambulatory pharmacies and provides leadership and oversight for pharmacy services. The Pharmacy Manager oversees expense and revenue budgets; provides leadership; meets customer service objectives; ensures compliance with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements; supervises and directs assigned pharmacy staff providing inpatient and/or ambulatory services. Responsibilities Oversee expense and revenue budgets; provide leadership. Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, and accreditation requirements. Supervise and direct pharmacy staff providing inpatient and/or ambulatory services. Respond to patient service and managerial issues independently. Hire, discipline, and make performance review decisions. Handle full range of supervisor responsibilities: hiring, orientation, evaluation, discipline, and providing learning opportunities. Coordinate recruitment and orientation of all employees and training of pharmacy staff. Support staff development activities; recommend development programs. Develop competency‑based staff assessment standards and ensure they are met. Address performance issues as they occur. Provide leadership to meet staffing and service requirements of an active, busy pharmacy. Assist with teaching within the Pharmacy Department, student teaching from clerkship rotations, didactic teaching, and other duties as needed. Qualifications Current licensure with the Virginia State Board of Pharmacy required or obtained within the first 90 days of employment. Minimum of three (3) years of previous work experience as a Pharmacist or completion of a two‑year residency program focused in pharmacy administration plus one year of work experience as a Pharmacist. Experience working with pharmacy information systems and automation. Supervisory or management experience specifically in outpatient pharmacy services (at least one year). Experience with patient support programs (e.g., Ryan White, ADAP, VHCA 340B). Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited academic program (required). Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) from an accredited academic program (preferred). Physical Requirements Lifting 20-50 lbs.; prolonged standing, sitting, frequent bending, walking. Strong recall, reasoning, problem-solving, hearing, speaking clearly, writing legibly, reading, logical thinking. Handles fast-paced environment, multiple priorities, adapts to frequent change.
