Facility Manager

Summary This position is located in the DEA, El Paso Intelligence Division, El Paso, Texas. The primary purpose is to ensure that buildings, infrastructures, and support services operate safely, efficiently, and in alignment with organizational goals. Duties Serves as the Facilities Manager and procurator for all repairs of the interior/exterior building structure, including electrical, plumbing, roofing, painting, carpeting, furniture, furnishings, and the planning of upgrading projects. Develops short-term and long-term plans, programs, and budgets for minor construction, maintenance, and repair facilities. Provides support as the Facilities Manager in implementing policies, plans, and programs involving real property, space planning, renovations, furniture activities, building operations services, maintenance, and facilities management at a DEA-owned building/space. Plans projects and repairs to minimize disruption to daily operations and workforce personnel. Provides technical assistance to scientific, engineering, clerical, and administrative personnel regarding facilities management and coordinates all documentation. Qualifications Applicants must meet the Basic Individual Occupational Requirements along with the specialized experience requirements. All qualification claims are subject to verification. BASIC REQUIREMENT Education: Undergraduate major in engineering, industrial arts, property management, or business administration, or graduate education in the same fields. OR Experience: Managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military, or other special-purpose installations; planning maintenance activities; developing preventive maintenance programs. Conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations, reviewing project plans and specifications, informing contractors of construction requirements. Performing maintenance or construction work, estimating material and labor costs for projects, directing operations, maintaining contacts with funding organizations. Applicants applying for GS‑11 must meet one of the following: At least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to GS‑9 level; includes paid and unpaid (volunteer) experience. Must earn credit for such experience. Education: Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree; 3 full years of graduate education leading to such degree; or LL.M. if related. Combination of Education and Experience meeting 100% of requirements (calculate as specified).
