Financial Analyst

Position Summary We are looking for a financial analyst to support the underwriting of income‑producing assets, working with brokers, marketing professionals, and project administrators. The analyst will provide rigorous analysis, develop models, and present findings to investors and clients at the Birmingham, MI office (hybrid: 4 days in office, 1 day remote). Key Responsibilities Underwrite income‑producing assets using Excel. Analyze historical operating statements, budgets, leases, loan agreements and market conditions to establish underwriting assumptions. Review, abstract, and interpret leases, appraisals, property condition reports, environmental reports and other real estate documents. Identify and address critical property‑level financial issues. Present models and findings to brokers and clients, and assist in drafting presentation packages and offering memoranda. Coordinate with debt/equity teams to underwrite based on debt placement scenarios. Gather and track financial data points for research and negotiation. Analyze mortgage documents, including prepayments, yield maintenance, and defeasance. Present results and defend projections in client settings and on the phone. Participate in pitch presentations with prospects and clients and lead discussions on financial modeling. Communicate with capital markets professionals, property managers, asset managers, and principals to clarify inconsistencies and resolve property‑specific issues. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Business, Commerce or related field. 2–3 years of experience in a related role; commercial real‑estate experience preferred. Experience developing financial models (cash flows, IRR, DCF, cash‑on‑cash analysis) for cash‑flowing assets and development opportunities. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Ability to multi‑task, meet tight deadlines and prioritize work. Excellent time‑management, organizational and collaboration skills. Capability to work in a complex, multi‑department team with minimal supervision. Other Information Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.
