Work Environment

This position is fully remote, allowing for flexibility while maintaining a structured work schedule aligned with regular business hours. By working within a school environment remotely, you can facilitate relevant and pertinent support tailored to the needs of students while fostering collaboration with school staff and other stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments of students and families to identify social, emotional, and environmental challenges they face, utilizing a strengths-based approach.
• Collaborate with clients to develop detailed service plans that set specific, achievable goals, outline interventions, and incorporate ongoing progress monitoring.
• Provide individual and family counseling sessions, delivering therapeutic interventions that empower clients to overcome personal obstacles and improve their overall well-being.
• Engage in crisis intervention strategies, performing risk assessments and safety planning when necessary to ensure client safety and emotional stability.
• Act as an advocate for clients by establishing connections to community resources, supporting their access to necessary services, and collaborating with local agencies.
• Participate in community outreach efforts, raising awareness about the agency's services and fostering relationships with schools and community organizations.
• Regularly contribute to case conferences and team meetings, sharing insights and strategies with colleagues while participating in continuing education and training initiatives.

Patient Population / Client Focus

The LCSW will primarily serve students and their families within the school system, engaging with diverse populations facing a variety of life challenges. This role requires a strong cultural competence to effectively support individuals from different backgrounds, particularly those experiencing difficulties such as emotional distress, family instability, or acute crises. By addressing these needs holistically, the LCSW will contribute significantly to the educational and emotional development of the students while advocating for social justice.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Social Work from an accredited program is essential for this position.
• Active licensure as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Florida.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, capable of building rapport and trust with students, families, and community partners.
• Proficient knowledge of trauma-informed care principles, social and economic justice issues, and local community resources.

Preferred Experience

• Experience working within a school setting or a similar social service agency is preferred but not required.
• A proven track record in case management and advocacy work.

Compensation and Benefits
