Key Qualifications & Experience:

• Valid Special Education Teacher certification for the state (or eligibility to obtain)
• Experience working with students with emotional and behavioral challenges preferred
• Strong knowledge of individualized education programs (IEPs) and behavior intervention plans (BIPs)
• Ability to foster a supportive, positive classroom environment dedicated to meeting each student’s unique needs
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with families, staff, and related service providers
• Great organizational skills for managing documentation and progress monitoring

Core Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and modify IEPs in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams
• Deliver engaging, individualized instruction for middle school students in an ED classroom setting
• Utilize evidence-based strategies to promote positive behavior and social-emotional development
• Maintain detailed records on student progress and adjust plans as needed
• Partner with classroom aides, counselors, and other staff to provide comprehensive support
• Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding progress, strategies, and goals
• Supervise and create a safe, structured classroom environment
• Participate in professional development and staff meetings
