Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring 3 years of experience and night shift availability.

Details

• Work in the Labor and Delivery unit of a hospital setting
• Patient population includes neonates and adults
• Night shift schedule: 3x12 hour shifts, 6:00pm - 6:30am
• Weekend coverage required every 3rd weekend
• Uses Meditech documentation system
• Uses Pyxis medication system

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP
• Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience required
• Meditech charting experience preferred
• Skilled in NST, OCT, and sterile vaginal exams
• Experience with triage of obstetrical patients
• Proficient in use of EFM, spiral electrode placement, and internal/external fetal monitoring
• Experience with IUPC placement and calibration
• Ability to recognize and treat abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Experience administering blood and blood products
• Skilled in drawing venous blood and starting/maintaining peripheral IVs
• Experience with infusion pumps, drips, and IV monitoring
• Able to circulate and recover C-section patients
• Experience with epidural anesthesia and pain management

• Provide comprehensive labor and delivery nursing care including antepartum care and procedures
• Scrubs provided
• First time travelers may be considered depending on experience level
