Mechanical Design Engineer

Mechanical DesignerKonik is partnering with a growing engineering and design organization seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the development of high-quality mechanical systems and construction documents for commercial building projects. This role will focus on designing efficient HVAC and building systems, coordinating with consultants and project teams, and creating accurate documentation that supports successful project delivery.The ideal candidate will have experience with mechanical/HVAC design, strong Revit and CAD skills, and the ability to collaborate with engineers, construction teams, and clients. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to energy-efficient building solutions while helping improve design processes and project outcomes.ResponsibilitiesDevelop mechanical system designs and construction documents that support efficient, cost-effective building solutions.Create HVAC layouts, drawings, and design documentation using Revit, CAD, and related design tools.Size equipment and mechanical systems to optimize energy efficiency, performance, and constructability.Collaborate with design consultants, construction managers, and project teams to deliver coordinated solutions.Perform site visits to verify existing conditions and support accurate system design.Review project specifications, drawings, and requirements to ensure compliance and quality.Troubleshoot design challenges and recommend practical solutions.Support project schedules, budgets, and overall design planning.Assist project managers by tracking scope changes and identifying potential impacts.Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and project partners throughout the design process.QualificationsAssociate degree or equivalent technical experience.3+ years of experience with mechanical design, HVAC design, or building systems.Experience creating mechanical construction documents and interpreting blueprints.Proficiency with Revit, CAD, and other design software.Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) building systems.Ability to troubleshoot problems and develop effective solutions.Strong attention to detail with the ability to deliver accurate, high-quality work.Excellent communication, organization, and collaboration skills.Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet project deadlines.Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Bluebeam.Ability to mentor and support less experienced designers or drafters.Preferred QualificationsExperience supporting commercial, institutional, or educational facilities.Experience working with K-12 facilities, programs, or building priorities.Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to clients and non-technical stakeholders.Strong understanding of energy-efficient building design and system optimization.Experience working in a collaborative design-build environment.BenefitsCompetitive compensation based on experienceHealth insurance optionsDental and vision insuranceHealth Savings Account (HSA)401(k) retirement planPaid time offProfessional development opportunitiesKonik is an equal opportunity employer.
